Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about compatibility, included soundbanks, MIDI content and licensing.

What exactly is included in this bundle?

You get five complete soundbanks:

THYRON – 100 presets
PHANTOM – 101 presets
GANYMED – 108 presets
FRACTALIS – 120 presets
ORBITALIS – 137 presets

Which version of Serum do I need?

You need Xfer Serum 2 version 2.1.4 or newer to use the complete collection.

Thyron, Phantom, Ganymed and Fractalis were developed for Serum 2. Orbitalis was originally created for Serum 1 and also works in Serum 2.

The Serum synthesizer plugin is not included.

Will these presets work in Serum 1?

Not all of them.

Orbitalis is compatible with Serum 1.368 and newer, as well as Serum 2.

Thyron, Phantom, Ganymed and Fractalis require Serum 2. We recommend purchasing the complete bundle only if you own Serum 2.

Are the MIDI clips included as separate files?

It depends on the soundbank.

Ganymed includes 50 separate MIDI clips.

Fractalis includes 120 matching MIDI ideas saved directly inside the Serum 2 presets in the CLIP section, rather than as separate MIDI files.

Some other soundbanks also include built-in MIDI previews.

Can I use the MIDI clips in my own tracks?

Yes. You can use the included MIDI material as inspiration or as a starting point for your own melodies, basslines and sequences.

For Fractalis, open the preset in Serum 2, access the CLIP section and drag or export the MIDI into your DAW.

You can edit the notes, change the rhythm or use the MIDI with other instruments.

Does the bundle include WAV samples?

Yes. Phantom includes additional 24-bit WAV loops and one-shots at 145 BPM.

These audio files can be used directly in your DAW without loading Serum 2.

Can I use these sounds in commercial releases?

Yes. The included presets, MIDI content and samples are royalty-free for use in your own music productions.

You can use them in commercial tracks, label releases and client projects.

You may not resell, share, redistribute or repackage the original presets, MIDI clips or samples as standalone products.
